Tobacco benefits

Who said cigarette smoking is harmful to health?  In fact, all medical institutions and organizations concerned with health affairs, such as the World Health Organization, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, confirm that smoking is harmful to health.  But smoking may protect against some diseases for reasons that science has not yet been able to explain.

It may seem strange, but smoking actually has few benefits despite its many harms, and in any case, these benefits are very few and not worth the dangers of smoking for them.  The article does not aim to encourage this deadly habit, but rather aims to raise awareness, present and analyze information, and clarify the characteristics of smoking so that we can make decisions with knowledge and awareness.

What are the benefits of smoking?

Smoking reduces the risk of developing Parkinson's disease:

Several studies have found a strange inverse relationship between smoking and Parkinson's disease. Smokers somehow avoid this disease, and of course we don't mean that they do not get it because they die early.

Benefits of smoking - Smoking may protect against some diseases for reasons that science has not yet been able to explain - Tobacco smoking reduces the risk of obesity - Knee joint replacement surgery

In a study published in the Journal of Neuroscience in the March 2010 issue, it was found that the number of cigarettes smoked per day and the number of years of smoking increased this protective effect, but without specifying the cause.

This study supported the results of another previous Harvard study, published in the Journal of Neuroscience in 2007, that found that the protective effect of smoking diminished after quitting, but it also did not identify the reason why smoking protects against Parkinson's disease.

Smoking reduces the risk of obesity:

Most people think smoking is an appetite suppressant, which tobacco producers used to promote their products in the 1920s, by convincing women that smoking made them lose weight.

According to a study published in the Journal of Behavior and Physiology in 2011, one of the main reasons why it is difficult to quit smoking is the inevitable subsequent weight gain, second only to addiction.

In fact, the relationship between smoking and weight control is complex. Nicotine has both an appetite suppressant and an appetite stimulating role, affecting the hypothalamus and suppressing appetite, according to a study in mice published in 2011 in the journal Science.  In addition, the smoker eats fewer meals, and smoking makes food taste bad, which suppresses the appetite.

In any case, no doctor recommends smoking as a way to maintain weight, because of the dangers resulting from it, but the results of previous studies can be used to create a drug that regulates appetite.
